Firefox can not unless you add the new microsoft plug in. That is a given since we already have it. There is going to be H.264 media on the web. VLC is a good program but it really is just a media player and a good one but has nothing to do with this issue.There is also support for fullscreen display and javascript control. The decoding process is done by VLC and the output window is embedded in a webpage or directly in the browser window. This plugin adds support for MPEG, MPEG2, DVD, DivX, Ogg/Vorbis and many more formats to any Gecko-based web browser (Firefox, Galeon, etc.).
